Privacy notice

1. Controller and scope

This notice covers the website for Rhino Laser, the Rhino add-on developed by MetalArtDesign. It does not describe data processing within Rhino or any future released plugin. The separate MetalArtDesign main website has its own privacy notice.

2. Website delivery and hosting

When you access this website, technically necessary connection data, in particular your IP address and technical request information, are processed to deliver the requested content and operate the website securely. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is in providing and protecting the website.

Web hosting, administration of our email accounts and technical support are provided by Leonhard Berchtold, trading as Solution Clinic, Uferweg 14, Tür 1, 5101 Bergheim, Austria. Contact: office@solutionclinic.net; website: www.solutionclinic.net. A data processing agreement under Article 28 GDPR is in place with the provider.

Solution Clinic retains server logs, emails and backups for 24 months. The website operator does not keep additional access logs.

3. Questions, ideas and email enquiries

If you send questions, suggestions or feature requests about Rhino Laser, we process your email address, message and any voluntarily supplied details or attachments to deal with your enquiry. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR (our legitimate interest in responding and developing the tool), or Article 6(1)(b) GDPR for contract-related enquiries. We may be unable to respond without sufficient contact details and information.

If no order results, we delete the emails we have handled promptly after completing the enquiry, within three months at the latest. For orders, we retain correspondence for as long as necessary to fulfil them. Statutory retention requirements (Article 6(1)(c) GDPR) or the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims may require longer retention.

Independently of this, emails and backups remain stored by Solution Clinic for up to 24 months. Deletion by us therefore does not immediately delete every copy held by the provider. Please do not send confidential client information or other people's personal data that are unnecessary for your enquiry.

4. YouTube videos – only with your permission

The tutorials are provided through YouTube (Google Ireland Limited, Ireland). Preview images are hosted on our own server. On your first visit, you can allow YouTube videos for this website or continue without YouTube. Permission alone does not load a player: a connection to YouTube is made only when you then start a video. All other content is available without permission.

By selecting “Allow YouTube videos”, you consent to loading the YouTube players you choose to start on this website. The provider receives, in particular, your IP address and technical device, request and usage data. If you are signed in to Google or YouTube, this may be associated with your account. Cookies or similar storage technologies may be used. The legal bases are Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and, where applicable, section 165(3) of the Austrian Telecommunications Act 2021.

We use privacy-enhanced mode via youtube-nocookie.com. This does not prevent all processing of personal data and does not replace consent. Processing in the USA is possible. Google identifies the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and, where necessary, standard contractual clauses as transfer mechanisms: data transfer frameworks.

Your choice covers all current and subsequently added YouTube videos on this website and all three language versions. We remember consent or rejection in this browser for 180 days. You can select “Continue without YouTube” at any time through “Privacy settings” in the footer. This removes all players open here. It does not retrospectively delete data already transmitted or information stored by the provider, nor affect the lawfulness of previous processing. See the Google Privacy Policy for further information. Analytics consent is separate.

5. Google Analytics – only with your consent

On the published Rhino Laser website at www.metalartdesign.at/rhinolaser/, we use Google Analytics 4 from Google Ireland Limited, Ireland, to analyse usage and improve our content. This analysis is separate from the main MetalArtDesign website. Without your voluntary consent, we do not load the Analytics script or set Analytics cookies. The local development preview is excluded from measurement.

After consent, we measure page views, scrolling, outbound-link clicks, supported file-download clicks and interactions with permitted YouTube videos. Data also include timestamps, browser and device information, pseudonymous cookie identifiers and location information. Detailed location and device collection is enabled; this may include city, device model, operating system, browser version and screen resolution. The resulting usage statistics are not a guarantee of complete anonymity. The technical connection transmits your IP address to Google.

Our integration does not grant consent for advertising or advertising-related user data, and disables Google signals and advertising personalisation in the tag. We do not send a custom User-ID or contact or customer data to Analytics. YouTube permission is independent of Analytics; the website remains usable without either consent.

The legal bases are your consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and, where applicable, section 165(3) of the Austrian Telecommunications Act 2021. Analytics uses cookies with our own rhl prefix, in particular rhl_ga and rhl_ga_3TGMKB4ZH7. Their lifetime is at most 180 days, without automatic renewal on another visit. They are restricted to this host and the /rhinolaser/ path.

User and event data retention in this Analytics property is set to 2 months each. New user activity does not reset this period. Deletion follows Google’s deletion cycle; aggregated standard reports are not affected by this retention setting. This is separate from the lifetime of cookies and stored consent choices.

Recipients are Google Ireland Limited and, where applicable, other Google companies and service providers. Processing in the USA is possible. Google identifies the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and, where necessary, standard contractual clauses as transfer mechanisms. You can withdraw consent at any time through “Analytics settings” in the footer. Measurement stops, accessible cookies set by our Analytics integration are removed, and the page is normally reloaded if Analytics has already loaded. This does not retrospectively delete data already sent to Google or affect the lawfulness of earlier processing. Your choice is stored as described in section 6.

6. Local content and external links

The website loads its images, styling and scripts from its own web server and uses system fonts. Language selection and image enlargement do not create persistent browser entries. YouTube and Analytics preferences are stored separately.

Links to MetalArtDesign, YouTube and other providers are ordinary external links. You only access the other website when you follow a link; that operator's privacy information then applies. “Watch on YouTube” opens YouTube directly instead of embedding the player here.

To respect your YouTube choice, we store only the choice and its timestamp in local browser storage under rhino-laser-youtube-consent-v1. The choice is valid for 180 days; after that we ask again. The entry may remain until your next choice or until you clear browser data. This storage is not used for audience measurement. If browser storage is unavailable, your choice applies only to the current page visit.

For Analytics, we likewise store only your choice and its timestamp, under rhino-laser-analytics-consent-v1. Consent and rejection are respected for 180 days. These entries are used to respect your decision, not themselves to measure visitors. We ask again after expiry; an old entry may remain until your next choice or until you clear browser data. If storage is unavailable, the choice applies only to the current page visit.

7. Your rights

Subject to the applicable legal requirements, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests on grounds relating to your particular situation. You can withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future, without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing.
